If you are traveling to Nerja for a well deserved break, then you have lots of choice when it comes to accommodation. There are over 35 hotels along with more than 40 B&B’s, commonly known as Hostals or Pensiones in Spain. Along with these types of accommodations are a multitude of apartments that are available to rent. Some apartments are rented by individual owners and come in all shapes and sizes. Others are run by management companies and are offered in true “Hotel” style with plenty of services offered including a reception desk.
This type of accommodation is great for those with families who prefer to have their own kitchen in order to eat in and prepare meals at “base camp”. Its also great for those who want to shop at one of the many local supermarkets in Nerja and then prepare tasty sandwiches or other treats to take to the beach in a cool box. This also means that you can stay all day on the beach without having to lash out on eating in a restaurant or beach bar. Many holiday makers like to do this, not only to save money if they are traveling on a budget, but also in order to eat a healthier diet while they are in Nerja!
Some of the Apartment offerings in Nerja include Apartamentos Andalucia in Calle Chaparil. These apartments are very modern & beautifully clean with sea views and full air conditioning. They also have a large terrace where you can stretch out in the sun. Kitchens are a little on the small side but functional. You can also take a dip in the rather small pool on the roof of the building. Twice weakly cleaning is standard and they also offer free wifi. Prices for 2 to 4 adults start at around €85 per night.
If you are looking for something that is older and has more traditional Spanish charm, then maybe an apartment or small villa in El Capistrano would be for you. The gardens alone are to die for as they are very mature and extremely well kept. A walk around the gardens in the evening with the smell of jasmine and “lady of the night” pungent in the air can be almost intoxicating. El Sur is one of the oldest companies that rent out apartments and villas and have a selection of over 100 properties. There are two great swimming pools in El Capistrano village and the kids will love them both. Prices from as low as €50 per night for a couple and its just a short taxi ride of around €5 in order to get into the old town of Nerja.
