MALAGA AIRPORT INFORMATION
Malaga Airport is exactly eight kilometres west of Malaga City and is the main airport for many millions of people arriving into Andalusia and the Costa del Sol each year. Malaga airport is next to the main A7 coastal road that links to the Autopista del Sol motorway for Gibraltar, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Estepona and Marbella and to the west and Malaga City, Nerja, Torrox, Granada City and the Eastern Costa Tropical. Malaga airport has also recently opened its new Terminal 3 which is a project that will make it a real benchmark among the main tourist airports throughout Europe.
Access to Malaga Airport from Malaga is made by the A7 road towards Algeciras. You take exit 235 towards Torremolinos to connect with the MA-21 and access the airport. Also, from the towns on the Costa del Sol, you have to go along the A7 towards Malaga and take exit 229 towards San Julián where you can then connect to the road leading to the airport. Malaga Airport has flight connections to more than 70 worldwide destinations and approximately 12 million passengers pass through the airport every year. The commercial area inside the airport building has recently been improved and takes on a very modern practical appearance.
Malaga Airport also has lots of car rental companies located nearby, but you will normally need a shuttle service to get to the offices of these companies. There is a Taxi rank outside Malaga Airport but in summer (especially) there are often lots of queues. Its is better to book a taxi online before you arrive and you will pay less and enjoy a better class of service. All of our drivers are aware of flight arrival times so you don’t need to worry if your flight is delayed. Your Taxi to Nerja will be waiting for you!
