Improvemnts to Nerja beaches

Nerja’s City Council has approved the collaboration agreement between the County Council, Association of Municipalities of the Eastern Costa del Sol area and the town councils of the area that will increase and enhance the area’s very popular beaches.

Nerja will receive 120,000 euros from the budget of 750,000 that is to be shared among the different towns of the Axarquia, according to their needs, allocations for the purchases of supplies, such as walkways, showers, foot baths and changing rooms, lockers, accessibility pergolas, bins, amphibious chairs, signals and watch towers, among other items. This renovation work will transfer the image of Nerja’s beaches to a higher level. The mayor of Nerja has praised the work completed by Elias Bendodo, president of the council, in order to promote tourism in the area.

“La Junta de Andalucía should follow this example and change their policy regarding beaches, ending the neglect and helping with grants so that the Western Costa del Sol area could reach a point of maturity that will allow us to enjoy the benefits of tourism qualification plans”, concluded the mayor.
