Nieves Atencia, councilor for Parks and Gardens in Nerja, announced that the existing railings at Plaza de la Marina are being replaced, among other substantial changes. They are being replaced due to their deterioration over the years. They decided to replace them entirely with new ones made with iroko wood, a more durable material.
This change is part of the initiative for improving and maintaining parks in the town. Previously, the benches at the same square had been changed, as well as the benches in the Plaza Huerto de las Monjas.
Parks and Gardens will also have two new vehicles to help with the services they offer. There are lots of green areas that require maintenance, and two cars will make the job easier when it comes to cleaning, trimming gardens and pruning trees in areas in the outskirts of the town.
The purchase of this equipment is added to the other purchases made by the Nerja Council for the continuous improvement of town services. These vehicles will also be used as support for servicing beaches outside the town centre, like Maro and Playazo beaches.
